The Lloyd’s market is a significant part of the broader Australian insurance market. When Lloyd’s Australia last presented to the NSW CDG there was a buzz about what lay on the horizon for Lloyd’s participants in the Australian market. Three years on, Lloyd’s involvement in Australia continues to go from strength to strength. This month, Peter Plustwick, General Manager Lloyd’s Australia, and Sarah Girling, Senior Market Engagement Manager, will present on the current “state of play” for Lloyd’s market participants in Australia. As General Manager of Lloyd’s Australia, Peter is responsible for leading the local Lloyd’s subsidiary and the Lloyd’s Australia team. Peter joined the Corporation four years ago as Manager of its Dispute Resolution function for Australia and New Zealand. Before joining Lloyd’s, Peter held several senior positions at IAG and Allianz, with a core focus on customer outcomes and continuous improvement projects. Peter studied law and art history and is admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales. Peter is also a member of the Board of Lloyd’s Australia Limited. As Senior Market Engagement Manager, Sarah is accountable for Lloyd’s Market Engagement Strategy for Australia and New Zealand. Sarah has worked in the general insurance industry for over 15 years, having started her career in Marine Specialty Risks. She holds an MBA from UTS and brings a breadth of experience to the Market, across a variety of functions. These include, underwriting, operations and, more recently, managing underwriting agency partnerships at QBE. |
